Welcome to the English Residential Schools website for the Northern Summer School 2008, which this year is being held from Sunday 27th July to Saturday 2nd August at Mount St. Mary's College, near Chesterfield.
The programme for the school follows the pattern first presented at last year's summer schools and now adopted as the programme for summer schools for the remainder of the 5 year plan. It consists of plenary talks in the morning as well as courses and classes for everyone to attend that take up the rest of the morning and also the first part of the afternoon. Afterwards there are workshops, sports and swimming or just relaxation. The evenings are given over to entertainment that is designed to include everyone, such as dances, quizzes and the ever popular talent show
The theme of the school is "Our Mission:Building a World Civilisation" and the courses are based on topics that support this all-enbracing theme. See the page on courses for more details. The theme is further supported by plenary talks every day on the subject "The Will and Testament of Abdu'l-Baha."
We hope that you will once again enjoy this year's summer school and look forward to seeing you there.
